MY BIZARRE CHRONICLE

$ 4,000

What do we become when life leaves us with more questions than answers? My Bizarre Chronicle is an intimate visual diary of resilience, memory, and the search for meaning. Born from lived experience and expressed through the symbolic language of Dotism, the painting invites viewers to reflect on their own unseen struggles while discovering that hope, healing, and transformation can emerge even from life’s most difficult chapters.

MY BIZARRE CHRONICLE

There are moments in life when the world outside becomes so overwhelming that the only place left to seek answers is within ourselves. My Bizarre Chronicle was born from one of those moments.

As a Congolese refugee, I have lived through experiences that constantly challenged my understanding of humanity, hope, justice, and freedom. There were days when my mind carried more questions than answers—questions about suffering, identity, responsibility, and whether beauty could still exist in a world wounded by violence and uncertainty. Rather than searching for words, I turned to the canvas.

Every mark, symbol, and layer became part of a personal diary. The painting does not tell a single story; instead, it records the emotional landscapes I travelled while trying to understand both myself and the world around me. What may appear as chaos is, in truth, the rhythm of memory, resilience, fear, hope, and transformation unfolding together.

Created through the symbolic language of Dotism and VICOBET, the work reflects one of the central ideas within The World of Circles: that human life moves through recurring cycles of struggle, reflection, healing, and renewal. We are all shaped by our histories, yet none of us is defined entirely by them. Every challenge carries within it the possibility of becoming something new.

Although deeply personal, My Bizarre Chronicle is ultimately about all of us. Every person carries invisible battles, unanswered questions, and memories that quietly shape who they become. This painting invites viewers to pause, reflect, and recognize their own story within its abstract language.

For me, this work is evidence that art can become a place of survival when words are no longer enough. It reminds us that even during life’s most confusing chapters, hope continues to exist beneath the surface, waiting for the courage to bring it into the light.
